My name is Joseph Sarr.
I am a museum professional specializing in exhibition development and collections management. I earned a master’s degree in history (with an emphasis on museum studies) at Colorado State University in May 2019. Museums have always resonated with me as unique portals to the wider worlds of history, art, and science. While I enjoyed learning about these subjects in school, they took on unexpected layers of immediacy in a museum setting. Immersive exhibits and physical artifacts provide a type of tangibility that the classroom rarely replicates. I try to pursue this specialized potential for research and education that only museums seem to possess in all of my work.
Historical areas that I specialize in include classical Rome, American borderlands, medieval Europe, the Middle East, Christianity and Islam, medieval and modern philosophy, 20th century music, and the history of warfare. Other interests include wildlife and landscape photography, languages, and hiking throughout the the United States.
